Traditional Māori fabric arts were primarily centred around constructing garments necessary to enable survival for early Māori settlers to New Zealand.
As an introduction to computational design, a single knitted garment was experimented with to understand how the software worked and the level of detail that could be enabled by particular software.
The top layer of the garment is created from lines derived from the topology of the human body enabling this particular algorithmic script to take into account any human form. Finally, the final garment is created by using a closest point algorithm that can form a dense fabric like structure between the bottom and top layer of the garment.
