This architectural thesis aimed to analyse how māturanga Māori can be introduced as a design driver for computational design outcomes.
Traditional Māori weaving and fabrics arts were identified to possess many similarities to architecture when thinking about structure, complexity, and beauty concepts.
The final two proposed pavilions utilised braiding and twining techniques used throughout Māori traditional arts to articulate all facets of the design ranging from structural columns, stairs and small details such as handrails.
